Environment and volume of voice was the same in both calls So now I have to ask myself, if this has been an issue for at least four years why hasn't this issue been addressed?!?! What finally solved this issue for me was to follow guide [1] to get the device connected in fastboot mode to my iMac [2], followed by unlocking and erasing the cache.

Though it was still showing error but after minutes the option for rebooting appeared and then I could reboot the phone.

The phone does not have an mount cache option in the recovery menu.
