To fill in the destination I could either type in an address or tap a button to pull up my Contacts list.

Since I faithfully add all client addresses to my Contacts list, I usually use this option. I then tap the Get Directions button. After waiting a few seconds an overview map as well as the distance and estimated travel time are listed. Next I typically tap the Start Voice Navigation button.
