How to Change the Notification Sounds for the Gmail App – Republic Help

Sep 20, PM in response to rbrylawski In response to rbrylawski. I thought I explained that I had done all of that. For simplicity, I set everything to a single sound but it didn't work. I still get two different notification sounds, neither of which is what I selected. Then you might want to save a backup and restore the phone from backup to see if clears any gremlins causing this.

You just mention going to the individual mail settings to set your sounds. If you reset the phone as indicated, the next steps in troubleshooting are to create a current backup, then restore to that backup.

Then test. If it still does not work correctly, then restore to factory and set up as a new device and test. However, all I ended up doing was to reset the sounds and reset the vibration patterns, and all seems to work. I'm sorry I don't have the two accounts with different sounds, but all seems to be working just fine now.

I would go through the restore I mentioned earlier, since it seems you have tried everything else. I would have next suggested to set both accounts the same, but it seems you have already tried that. I changed both of them from the sound I currently have set to, and set different ones. Using a computer, I sent an email to each of the accounts and the mail was received and I was notified with the sounds I had just set for the accounts.

As I indicated in my last post, I would try the restore. Restore as factory after taking a current backup, then add the two accounts to the phone. Then set the notifications and test.

If they work, then restore the device to your last backup. If there is an error after that, then I would have to say there is corrupt data in your backup, and you would be better off restoring your phone, set it up as new, and add back your content without a backup. I have a new PC and had not yet downloaded itunes.

I just did but when I try to launch it I get a crash dump. When I go into the programs files, I don't see itunes listed. Now I have to go sort through this issue before I can get back to the iphone issue.
