Why not divert resources to solving some of the other issues we've mentioned in this review and drop this rubbish? Anybody with any sense will immediately download Google Maps and be done with it.

The good news is that when you do install some good mapping software, it can get a GPS fix very quickly. Still not as fast as the Samsung Galaxy S2 — which we have never been able to match — but it's definitely respectable.

It will be a little "laggy" compared to how quick it is on android but it is still usable. Turn by turn directions work as it does on android. I rarely use Blackberry maps because I find Google maps to be much better, despite the slight lag. The navigation app on blackberry is without question inferior to the google maps app. That said, if all you're primarily using it for turn-by-turn car navigation it works very well It mainly lacks many of the finer details POI database is much more detailed, street view, walking mode, public transportation, etc that exist in google maps.
