I imagine the Kindle Fire tablet would work anywhere. You just need to make sure you are connected to wifi to download apps and books. They are condensed like that I believe so they do t take up as much space. As for if they work without WiFi once downloaded I am not sure. I haven't had the chance to try that out yet. Never down-loaded except for what I have bought.

If it is a movie that you have purchased and down-loaded for your library then no you do not need the wifi. Awesome divice for the price! Make sure u get an extra 32 gb. Wired headphones are a pain for little kids. Instead do a search on Amazon for wireless headphones for kids and you will see lots of options.
