Next time I'll order a take-out so that I can experience other menu items at home during my leisure. I can only wonder why I waited sooo long to visit this place. There were plenty of people at the booths.

All seemed very pleased. Would highly recommend this place. My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary dinner away from the kids, and now we want to come back, with our kids in tow. We went on a Tuesday night; the exterior was not that grandiose no shogun castle , but the interior was nice and elegant, with a bar that looked welcoming, a sushi bar to the right, and the hibachi to the left. We went for hibachi. We were seated quickly and service was good overall.

We ordered a special dinner for two which had salad, soup, and hibachi which had fried rice, shrimp, steak, chicken, noodles, and veggies. The salad was ok, but we loved the onion soup. We could not understand half of what our chef was saying, but he was very entertaining and courteous.

Looking around us, we saw customers -- mainly families with kids -- having an enjoyable, sometimes raucous, time being entertained by their chefs as well. There was also a birthday group for which the staff did a special number. The chicken was alright, but the shrimp was succulent, and the steak done just right -- plus the sauces made them even better.

Overall, we found this good for couples, but probably even better for families with kids. We're confident ours will enjoy it; so if you're looking for fun dining for your kids or to entertain guests, this is a good place for it. We love Shogun.

Hibatchi is awesome. Sushi is awesome. The hibatchi chefs are all different, but most of them are amazing. The fried rice is my favorite.

I could make a meal out of that alone. I really like the sushi at Shogun and this week we finally did the full dinner. It was pretty good but the personal chef at the grill was so-so everything was 'yum-yum' to him. The fried rice which was the first course was probably the best thing. The sauce on the noodles, veggies, and meat I thought was too salty.

Not The Best Around - Shogun Japanese Steakhouse

Lunch is great too!! You get pretty mush the same amount of food and spend almost half as much! It is always clean. My only complaint is that the bar is not great there, especially on the weekends. I have waited 30 minutes for a drink before. I used to eat Shogun on a weekly basis. The staff is always friendly, and happy.

I also love being able to watch my food prepared right in front of me. The cooks are very entertaining. My favorite is the Chicken, how ever the steak is good as well. Never dry, always full of taste. They also put on a fun show if you're lucky enough to get one of the more experienced chefs. The food was tasty and there was plentyn of it. The service was prompt and attentive. The kids even had fun!

This place may be a little decieving on the outside, but the inside is as beautiful as the food is delicious. The sushi is sooo fresh. They have a huge selection from authentic to modern. The chefs are so creative and always make sure the sushi is perfect. The service has always been perfect. I have eaten here on average about times weekly in the last year with exception of times to try other sushi bars to my un-satifaction. This is by far the best in Mobile!
