On Samsung's Galaxy phones, things are different: Instead of pressing the volume button, you press the power button and the home button at the same time. The downside is it requires two hands. But there's actually an easier way: Swipe your entire palm — I find holding my hand like in a chopping position to work best — from left to right on the screen.
If it's not already turned on by default, you'll need to turn it on. Samsung's TouchWiz UI and its myriad buttons and settings can be a daunting experience for less tech-savvy users. If, for some reason, you find the entire UI too convoluted, you can switch to an "Easy mode," view which includes larger icons and access to only basic apps like the phone, Internet browser, email and any apps that you approve.

It's great for your parents, grandparents and little children who freak out when they hit the wrong button and think they broke their phones. Fingerprints are the most secure way to protect your phone since no two fingerprints are the same. The other way, which is more useful for one-handed phone use, lets you hold down on the edge of the left screen to cause the menu to partially pop out, and then it can be fully accessed by swiping on that menu. At the moment, the new Android 10 gesture control features should work on phones that install stock versions of the OS.

However, other phones that have their own skins, like OneUI from Samsung , will continue to use their own ways to navigate through menus. Also, at least for the moment, phones that use a third-party launcher on Android 10 will default to the old 3-button navigation system. The "Back gesture sensitivity" setting allows you to adjust how easy it is to swipe the screen to enable the back arrow gesture. If you have a phone case that wraps around the edges of your display pretty snugly, you might want to increase the sensitivity to make it easier to swipe the edges. Play around with the levels of sensitivity to find your perfect fit. If you enable the "Allow back gesture on keyboard" option, you'll be able to use the back arrow gesture while you have your favorite keyboard on-screen.
