Unless you have a strong firewall and are careful, you may want to avoid connecting to these networks because they are frequent targets of hackers. Bug: Volume won’t change

If the phone is powered off and then started to charge, it will automatically power back up turn on. Press and hold on the Power button until you see Slide down to power off. Slide or flick down the Slide down to power off screen. The phone will now say goodbye as it powers off.

Press and hold on the Power button until the phone vibrates once. The phone will now restart and turn on. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time until you feel a vibration about 10—15 seconds.

Disable Automatic Wireless Connections on Windows

Your phone will restart automatically. Sometimes your phone will vibrate right away when you press the Volume Down button and Power button buttons—this is probably due to your ringer changing to Vibrate.

Wait to release the buttons until a second vibration after 10—15 seconds. If you don't let go of the Volume Down button and Power button buttons right after the vibration at 10—15 seconds, your phone may show a black startup screen and not restart normally. If this happens, just repeat the button combo to try again. Not all phones support the ability to restart your phone this way, so check with your phone's manufacturer to find out how to force a restart.

You may want to tweak this tutorial. Nokia Lumia with 8. I just learned today that the phone will not power off when plugged into a charger. It will only reboot. I hardly ever power down my phone, but I could swear that wasn't true back when running 8.

Also, when it's powered off and then plugging in a charger, the phone will boot up. I think that's new also.
